Thank you
Standard RAM: | 8 GB | Maximum RAM: | 32 GB* |
Details: | *8 GB of RAM is standard and reported as onboard with an optional upgrade to 16 GB of RAM at the time of purchase for an extra US$200. However, in a pleasant surprise, this memory actually is not onboard and can be replaced or upgraded after the initial purchase of the Mac, it's just unnecessarily complicated. This model can "unofficially" support 32 GB of RAM. |
I think that the operative word here is "unofficially". You will be on your own in getting it to work, and even if you do, it will invalidate any warranty you have on the iMac, and therefore any other issues that come up will not be supported by Apple with a ''unofficially" modified machine. After filling in my system: https://www.kingston.com/de/memory/search?DeviceType=2&Mfr=APP&Line=iMac&Model=96516
The site shows me loads of SD-Cards. The site also says RAM isn't upgradeable.
However it is:

50/50.. It will either work or it won't.hmm, i guess I'm OK with that.
But what chance do you give the success?
