Ive never built a Pc before and wanted to try it rather than buying one pre built.
I got the parts that seem appealing and had good reviews but wasnt sure if it was good or is compatible (like if the memory fits in the motherboard etc)

The Gpu will be compatible with any board out there. The gpu goes in the Pci-e express slot on the Motherboard . You are pairing an 8th Gen board ( Coffee Lake) with an 7th Gen Processor ( Kaby Lake ). The 8th Gen motherboards can only work with the 8th gen Processors . So if you are going with an Intel i7 7700 , you can go with the Z270 Chipsets Motherboards or even can go with the 6th gen boards . If you are to buy a 6th gen motherboard , then you will need to update the bios on the board to use it with an 7th gen processor , but most of the boards (New) come with the bios updated .
Since you are going with an Non overclocking Processor . You can use lower end chipsets rather than going with the Z270.
A b250 or H270 board will also do . Here are some suggestions on the Board

ASUS Prime H270-PLUS Motherboard

MSI B250M Pro VDH Motherboard

Hope this Helps
