Is this system good for gaming ?

I'd say that that's a pretty good budget rig to start off with, but you didn't list down some components.

Everything needs to be connected in order for them to work, which is why you will need a motherboard. I personally suggest ASUS or Gigabyte boards since they tend to last longer and have better build quality.

Besides that, you may want to go for an aftermarket CPU cooler. There are pretty cheap heat sinks out there that would allow pretty decent cooling for your CPU but if you don't plan to overclock, the stock cooler should be fine.

Also, if you have a tiny bit of money to spend, consider an SSD. This would allow your computer to boot up much quicker and they tend to be quieter and last longer, since they have no moving parts unlike the conventional mechanical hard drives.

And don't forget your OS!

Hopefully you get this build done, good luck 😉

Eftsiran,

It's ok lol, not the end of the world because your Mobo isn't in the list.

What is your budget? I think I can help improve your rig further. What are your expectations when it comes to performance? Are you expecting it to be able to run modern games such as BF4 or Titanfall at 1080P on high-ultra?

I have came up with a build for you on pcpartpicker: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pfRyt6

This is an AMD based PC and the FX processor would be overkill when compared to the i5. Also it's unlocked = overclockable.

On the other hand, the GPU is actually the R9 270X (AMD rebranded it into the R9 270X series and shot the price up)

The HDD is now a hybrid drive = more speed while not being awfully slow like a conventional mechanical hard drive.
