is this vga cable safe

Its a just a signal cable, won't hurt anything, plug it in see if it works. if it does wrap it in tape and call it a day.

Yah the shielding is still in place and under that im pretty sure there is another covered wire. Just tape it up with some electrical tape if you want to be sure.

If any kind of tape would do then there would be no purpose to electric tape.

Electric tape uses only non-conductive materials that does not allow the electricity to pass through it.

Using other tape does not do anything as the cable could still short or allow a shock to go through the tape.

okk il see actually i had been using a cellotape for a year now on it.. today suddenly changed cable and was having issues so comming back to this

Electrical tape is what you want. The others could still allow any number of things to happen.
