Is upgrading to a 144 hz monitor worth it?

Currently I have a 60 hz 24 in ASUS monitor that is great and It works beautifully for me runs everything nicely in 1080p.

I have been thinking though about maybe upgrading to a 144 hz monitor. Is this upgrade really worth it? I can run lots of games on maxed out settings and kinda wonder if I would really notice a difference. Any tips or advice from people who have made the switch?

if you upgrade to a 144hz monitor you can play on max frames with vsync off without screen tearing

everything is pertty much the same

i only know from my experience with 75hz monitors. But i got to tell ya, 75hz is amazing compared 60hz. I was playing F1 2002 (older game) and i was getting nearly 2x better lap times with the 75hz monitor over the 60hz monitor. So if your system can keep up on a 144hz monitor, it will make a difference in your performance in games.

well in order to hit near refresh rate fps he needs more gpu power. i mean that's the point of a 144hz monitor right?

yeah probably if he's going to play quake 3. i'm using a heavily oc'd gtx970 right now and i must say you're overestimating things.
