Since it has 3,5gb vram and pascla will be a lot different from jumping from example to gtx 5xx to 9xx..

A GTX 970 is great for now theres no need to wait on pascal.
you can max games now on ultra on 1080p, and im sure u can do over a year too.

i woul;d only wait for pascal if u alreayd on a r9 290 or something, because that still gets the job done.

We will see what the ballpark looks like on Monday with AMD showing us a bit of Polaris. I know it's not Pascal but again it will show us a ballpark area of what performance should be like.

I'd say yes, considering how close we are to the (suspected) release there is no reason not to, here are a couple of pros and cons.

Pros : Being able to have the newest thing and not getting outdated for a while longer, if the pascals suck/are too expensive it will have at least made the Maxwell prices lower, the multiple performance increases.

Cons : Not getting a card now.

I would just like to point out that historically prices on the prior generations of cards dont go down, but rather increase drastically as the cards hit EOL. Nvidia has no reason to discount maxwell once pascal hits.
