How to Disable Windows Defender Service Manually in Windows 8
In order to disable Windows Defender Service manually in Windows 8, step-by-step instructions given below must be followed by the administrators:
- ■Log on to Windows 8 computer with the administrator account on which Windows Defender service is to be disabled manually.
■Click Desktop tile from the Start screen to go to the desktop window.
■Once on the desktop screen, press Windows + R keys simultaneously to initiate the Run command box.
■On the Run command box, in the available field, type SERVICES.MSC command, and press Enter key.
■On the opened Services snap-in, locate the Windows Defender Service from the right pane.
■Once located, double-click the service.
■On the Windows Defender Service Properties box, make sure that General tab is selected.
■Once on the selected tab, click Stop to turn off the service.
■Being on the same tab, select Disabled option from the Startup type drop-down list to disable the Windows Defender service permanently.
■Click OK to save the modified settings.
■Close Services snap-in when done.
■Once done, restart the computer if required in order to allow the modified changes to take effect.
