Is Windows 8 Worth Getting?

I'm thinking about buying Windows 8. Is it worth it? I play alot of games, Battlefield 3 & 4, Counterstrike Series. My folks also do bookwork and stuff on this PC. So my only question is, is it worth it? Thanks

What's the alternative? Do you want to BUY Windows 7 instead? Or have you already got Windows 7?
A better question would be which version to buy, retail or OEM, Core or Pro.

Sorry, I'm running windows 7 64 bit home premium. Is windows 8.1 pro worth it then? and retail.

Windows 7 decreases performance a little bit, if you choose to use Windows 8 for playing games then you're right.
Windows 7 have more background tasks then Windows 8 and the background tasks take more RAM and CPU usage.
Also Windows 8 user will be able to update to Windows 8.1 without paying.

you get a bit of a performance benefit with win 8 for sure (2-3%)...its up to you to decide if that is worth the price paying for.

one more guys, I run i7 3770k and gtx 650 Ti OC. What gpu should i get if i decide to upgrade???
