Is XMP on all Intel CPUs?

My question is do all Intel CPUs have XMP (which allows Intel systems to use over 1600 mhz of RAM) or is it only on K-series (unlocked) Intel CPUs?

It is surprisingly hard to find a definitive answer to this. Nothing on XMP support appears listed in the Intel ARK Menu. It just says that current gen CPUs are meant for DDR3 1333 / 1600? Is it very unclear what specific CPUs can or cannot use XMP.

Is the mobo the only limiting factor? For example, can you not use XMP on any CPU in a H97 mobo, but you can use it on any Intel CPU in a Z97 mobo?

I'm researching my first build and I'm wondering if CPUs like the i5-4460, i5-4590, i5-4690(non-k version) support XMP.

In your upper image (the CPU-Z) it shows the XMP profile which is for 2400, which the mobo isn't capable of as it's an H97, so I would try the at 1600 9-9-9-24 1.5

So H97 has the option for XMP but isn't capable ? I'm confused

The H97 default is 1333. As explained earlier in the thread XMP applies to DRAM 1600 and up. The profiles for any given stick of DRAM are located in the sticks SPD. Your CPU/MC as well as the mobo need to be able to run the DRAM at the given XMP profile when talking 2400, the profile(s) are for 2400. If you had 1600 DRAM the profiles would be for 1600, 1866 DRAM has it's own 1866 profiles. If the Sytem (mobo/CPU) can't run the DRAM to it's spec, then you are left with setting up manually

let's translate this to something i will understand. Do i need to change only my mobo to Z97, or i also have to change my CPU to K series to run RAM at 2400 mhz speed.

For 2400 DRAM best is a K model CPU and Z97 mobo

Your mobo supports xmp but does not support ocing ram so can only get a max speed of 1600. You only need to change the mobo to something capable of ocing ram. But the difference in performance is next to nothing and would be a waste of money.
