Perhaps not the right section but I didn't come across any digital media sub forums.

Well, I decided to venture into Linux however the old PC I'm using doesn't have enough resources so I decided to go with a lighter distro being Lubuntu 14.10.

The .ISO file however is 705 MB and I don't have any DVDs left nor an additional USB. Also I wouldn't want to use a DVD for a mere 5 MBs, any way around it?

Thanks

Alternate install method would propably be the middle ground: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/Alternate_ISO. That should fit on a CD, check the instructions and md5 on the image before burning.
Check this one out for minimal install iso: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/Documentation/MinimalInstall. It's only about 40MB in size, you will need to manually install most of the stuff from command line though but just follow the instuctions on the site.

Interesting, it seems to be extremely bare-bone however. I have a P4 with 512 MB of DDR ram so it's not exactly necessary for me to go that low. However if no one else can come up with some options I'll use it as a last resort.

Ah that's not too shabby at all, it's 634 MB so it will be a fit on a CD. I'll download it now and test it out tomorrow, thanks for the input. I'll leave the topic open until tomorrow as well, if no additional answers are added I'll be sure to pick you as the solution :)
