Issue: blue vertical lines and much more!

I have a lil issues with my computer. I get blue vertical lines when I start up my computer... First it would freak out at the motherboard boot up and then when I get in windows.. It gets much much worse!

Last time it just got blue... and then it got black .. and then I couldn't do anything anymore

What could be the problem? I've done some research and people say it's the graphics card. But I want to be sure.

Have you tried a different monitor to isolate that as being a possible issue?

Have you overclocked the graphics card at all. You can lower the clocks even from stock speeds in an attempt to regain some stability out of it but I'm under the impression that your research has directed you properly and replacement of the graphics card would be a prudent step.

I do not overclock anything with my computer.

I'm going to suggest attempting to underclock the graphics card, this link explains how (if there is any screen visible to work with) http://www.playtool.com/pages/underclockvid/slowdown.html you might be able to get some use out of it until replacement
