Hey guys I have a an issue atm with my TV as a monitor.

I have been using the TV as a monitor for some time now and I have no troubles, I run the TV to a GTX 550ti with an HDMI cord. The screen and the UI of windows lines up perfect when i Select a resolution from the ( PC ) resolutions under display, but when I select ANYTHING from the ( HD , SD section ) I can't see part of the screen/ start bar ec etc )

The tv is Philips 32PFL3506/F7 32-Inch 720p 60Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

Even at 60hz / 720p as the resolution in setup, I cant see all of the screen, and without selecting a HD connection the highest resolution I can access in games and desktop is 1360x768.

I tried checking my Menu-Setup and there are barely any options on this TV, and I saw nothing for OVERSCAN as someone else suggested turning off?

Any help would be huge!

:non:
P.S I read something about a service menu and overscan, but it seems that the methods on the internet, 062596 than the info button or the menu button, are not entering the service menu. I am dying to get a better resolution here guys.

Update: I tried adjusting everything through the Nvidia resize my desktop, and whether I select PC: or HD view, anythnig over 1378x768 or whatever is reduced from 60hz to 24hz and the text/picture/everything looks horrible/rough

So it looks like my destined to keep that resolution untill i buy a better tv/monitor, although I dont understand why the game cannot support a higher resoltuion, I am playing EVE online and when i selecty higher than 1378x768 , the UI all goes offscreen and is cut off, dont understand that at all. I hvae higher resoltuions selected in other games?

720p is 1280x720 resolution. Anything over that be grateful for at this point. The overscan will be in the Nvidia control panel if it is not there then it does not have one. As I am to lazy tonight to turn on my other machine with the Nvidia card in it, I can't tell you where it is. My TV that I use for a monitor likes the 1366x768 resolution because it to is a 720p TV. When I tried using it on my Nvidia card I had the same issue you did But when I changed over to my ATI rig I was able to do 1920x1080 using the HDMI cable. I believe I needed to use the overscan ability in the Catalyst Control Center to achieve it though.

You may have to stick with the lower resolution of 1366x768 on your TV. I know I had the same issue with my Nvidia card the same way you are so it may be the lack of overscan in the control panel that is giving us this issue.

Hmmm ok thanks, and yes Nvida has a setting to Adjust the screen size, making any resolution fit to the screen, but when i do that , it lowers the HERTZ to 20hz, does that mean my tv cant run anything over 1366x788 ? If i do it runs at a low hertz with terrible quailty, and secondly, shouldnt i still be able to adjust a GAMES resolution higher though? I have 1920x1080 on a few games anda it works fine, but iwth EVE ONLINE it throiws the UI off-screen much like the desktop resolution increase.
