Issue with new gaming pc

When i play Battlefield 3 every now and then the game freeze for about 1-2 seconds then runs like normal. I get like 60-70fps on it at 1920x1080 everything low (Would go higher but need more ram first) Is it normal for it to freeze ? My pc is kind of good and its not even a week old yet. Would more ram help? Thanks for your help

My specs are:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 (3.5GHZ, 6CORE)
GPU: ASUS GeForce 650 GTX 1GB
RAM; 4GB DDR3 1600mhz

No its not usual for the game to freeze.
RAM is also sufficient for the game.
Did you try to install the latest gpu drivers?
That may be causing the problem.

Yea but its just steam and google Chorme with facebook and battlelog open

No I mean are there other processes that startup around the time you have the hiccup? Scheduled scans or anything like that?

Have you tried monitoring VRAM usage while playing?

sorry no i haven't. i just don't get it really like my pc is more than powerful to run it
