I'd like to first state that I have a stable BIOS overclock of 4.6GHz at 1.2v

I'm using Intel ETU for a small software overclock from stock speeds. I reset my BIOS to defaults, turned off Intel Turbo Boost, and changed the multiplier to 36 from default 35. So, for a few weeks I was using Intel ETU to do a small 100 MHz overclock (3.5->3.6) and it was working superb until this morning. Before everyone tells me BIOS is better, I know, I have 4.6 stable overclock... I am wondering why my computer is now locking up on 100 MHz software overclock? I did it before at .8V but I tried changing it to 1.1V just to see if it would lock up and it did. Any suggestions?

Solution
Maight be a voltage wall, try experimenting around, have found on various CPUs that you often find walls where within a given range of voltage you can't increase a OC or get stable within a certain area but going above that or below is fine, i.e. get to 4.5 fine in small increases say going up .02 then stops at 1.22 and need a jump to like 1.28 to go higher, or won't run a 4.3 at 1.24 but will run 4.4 at the same 1.24...just some really odd oddities that don't make a lot of sense 😉
