Issues Installing Drivers

I've just failed to download drivers and none of these links help me to manually download drivers. Can someone explain what to do please?

usually when system cannot install a driver, it is probably cause by another driver that was update before and requires you to reboot your system,
reboot system then re-launch the updater again

Can I reframe the question specifically about the Intel 8260 7265 3165 7260 3160 WiFi Driver?

I was updating this manually with PROSet/Wireless but it required me to uninstall the current version in order to get the new one. After uninstalling I still couldn't install and can no longer connect via WiFi.

I've now got Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 under the network adapters section which tried to update through Windows Update but still can't connect to WiFi.

Been on Mac all my life I've never had to deal with any of this.

okay.. so your wireless adaptor is not updating properly.. got it. you tried updating it removed the old one and now your wireless-Free.. got it.
do you have a cable to connect your pc to the router... (need to get on the internet to fix this.)

Ok I have WiFi again but still can't install the aforementioned driver. There's an option to extract instead of install. Might that be the solution?

If it is giving you the option to extract, then the file you downloaded is a .zip or some other compressed file. Extract it to your desktop and then look for a setup.exe file within the folder(s) the extract process created.

I've extracted, gone in the file, gone into the data folder and then into Driver and into Wifi. The Setup file won't open. It tells me I've installed everything and yet the system scan I've done through Alienware website tells me I've not installed it, or the chipset driver update which I have installed about 6 times now.
