Hello,
I wanted to clear up my 240 Gb ssd, and seeing as program files and program files x86 were taking up over 60% of my drive, I moved them over to my hdd. Then I deleted the files on my ssd (since they are now on my hdd), but 20% of the way through it stopped and I was unable to continue since some files were impossible to delete.

Now a bunch of my programs are not available and I am unable to recopy my program files back from my hdd to my sdd as there is not enough space to accept the data there is.

Any help would be appreciated in combining the two files again, and also in moving the program files to my hdd.

Thanks in advance

You can't just copy/paste program files like that... the applications need to be reinstalled on the 2nd hdd manually. Of course they won't work as the registry entries are looking for files that aren't where they expect. You can move steam libraries like that, and Wow, but most applications won't work.

what a mess. I can't see any way to combine them again.

What I would do is copy all the data files you need to save onto the hdd, delete all the programs on the hdd as they will never work, and bite the bullet and do a reset on win 10 to clean up the mess. Then when you install programs, point them at a Program files folder (you create) on the hdd

I would also move all library folders (such as music, documents, videos, downloads) to...

I only have a 250gb ssd myself and yet only using 50gb of it. Everything else is on my 2tb hdd as i never wanted to fill ssd up. I think I went overboard :)

Moving "Program Files" like that is a fast track to a PC that does not work.

Which OS is this?
How old is this install?

I think the only way ahead is a clean install.
I can't visualize a way to "fix" this.

Indeed it is a mess, thank you for the solution, and out of curiosity, which folders do you have on your ssd? I only had windows, users, program files, program files x86 and perflogs. I have only had this ssd for a month so I'm new to the whole idea of separating your files for the most possible efficiency.

How to actually manage space between the SSD and the HDD:
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

And for a 240GB drive, you do want most/all of your applications, apart from games, on the SSD.

For Steam games, it's easy:
Steam games location
In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

To move an already installed game
Games library
Right click the game
