Issues playing online games with my brother

Ok, so my brother and I both like to play TTT on Gmod at the same time. However, recently, we have started running into ping issues, where it lags so bad, only one of us can play at a time. This has only started within the last week. In addition, our family and us can do internet searches fine, but the Airport Express has been dropping the signals sometimes. However, my brother lags whenever I turn on my computer; not even when I am on the internet. Here is what I know:

-Have a CenturyLink (formerly Qwest) plan of 7 (or 12, not sure) Mbps

-Have the Actiontec Q1000 DSL Modem Router from Qwest, Airport Base Station connected by a Ethernet cable, and a Airport Express in our living room.

-Use the Rosewill RNX-N180UBE on both of our computers

In addition, my brother and I live in the same house, only 100 ft. or so away from our Airport Base Station and router.

I dont know how much those game require from internet usage... but you are saying that you and your brother share a 7Mbit connection?
