For the past several days I've been having a heck of a time updating my Asus laptop to the latest version of Windows 10, which is OS build 1903. I've probably tried a dozen times with no luck. The laptop only has 32GB of eMMC memory. At first it said I didn't have enough room to install the update, so it asked me to insert an external storage source, which I did in the form of a USB flash drive (32GB), but still no luck. After it downloads and seemingly installs successfully, the laptop restarts and says it's "Working on updates" but it never progresses beyond 0%. It stays this way for almost two hours, then reverts back to the desktop not having updated successfully. Once I got a message saying that my PC "Wasn't able to be updated" and it would do so automatically when it could be updated. Any ideas as to what's going on? I'm stumped. I contacted Asus, who were quick to reply, but they simply said hopefully the problem would be resolved within a month and that it sounded like a Microsoft issue.

For me I needed to update the audiodriver before update succeeded. Got page faults late during the upgrade that rolled back the update (due to conexant smartaudio hd. Windows found 8.66.77.57 driver on its own when requesting driver update poll)

Os drive has about 1gb less free after the update (before running disk cleanup). Suppose more might be used during the update despite external storage?
