Question issues with desktop, discord, and YouTube lag while playing games

16g 3000mhz ram

Recently my pc has had trouble running things it usually does fine while playing games. Watching a screenshare on discord now drops my fps by 40. When I'm watching a YouTube video while playing the YouTube video lags unless I'm in windowed mode. My desktop has also been very laggy when dragging icons and tabs while playing any game.

There are many things to troubleshoot. Updating hardware drivers, windows, bios. Checking operating temps on cpu and gpu while gaming. Checking memory to make sure both sticks are working and running at selected speed. Same for gpu, use gpuid and make sure your gpu is running at appropriate numbers. Check to make sure it is running at 16x pcie 3.0. Then there are all the gpu driver settings next......... What resolution are you running and what games?

My temps and speed are fine and all my drivers are up to date. This has been happening in almost every game for me. Rust is the game I'm playing a lot usually at 1400x1080. Escape from Tarkov and Rainbow Six Siege also gives me the issue. I also notice when playing native resolution on rust 1920x1080 the desktop lag goes away but everything else stays
