Issues with Motherboard and booting.

Hi guys,

So this stems from a different post I did not too long ago.

So I changed my PSU over from a Corsair CX480M (I think) to a BeQuiet Straight Power 10 600w. I then put my old Gigabyte 970A-UD3P in. I then proceeded to add everything else I have in and then tried to boot. This is when the problems first started to happen.

I would try to access the BIOS and it would lock up. I was unable to use my USB keyboard or mouse, and when I left it boot, I wouldn't get a GRUB screen (Multiboot system with Win10 and Ubuntu).

I would then after the POST screen get a blank screen and, after 10 or so seconds, finally boot into Ubuntu (It's the first on the list).

Thinking that it was the motherboard, I then bought a brand new Asus M5A97 R2.0 and fitted that in.

I then tried to boot and it happens the second time, no use of the USB keyboard or mouse. I then tried rebooting a couple of times and eventually, I got to use my mouse. Once, for about a second and then it stopped working.

Also, eventually I got through to the GRUB screen and that would lock up at about 29 seconds.

RAM is ok, the new motherboard has a MEM_OK button to test RAM.

Also, all fans start going at full tilt too.

Any idea what could be happening?

This says nothing about the health of the ram,it merely tries to find a working setting for the ram.
Can you try with one stick?
Reconnect all cables again, maybe when changing psu's you didn't put one in correctly.

Sorry for replying back so late I've been extremely busy with uni and stuff like that...

So I've had the RAM and GPU tested and they both passed their stress tests perfectly. I did however buy another stick to be sure and had the same result.

After this I then bought a new CPU and tried again to no avail.

Just the other day I then purchased a new PSU after thinking it has to be that and attached the new one properly, everything is where it needs to be, tried to boot and have had exactly the same outcome.

Current system is as follows:

CPU's: AMD FX-4300 and AMD FX-8350
GPU: Palit Nvidia GTX 760
Motherboards: Gigabyte 970A-UD3P and Asus M5A97 R2.0
RAM: G.Skill Sniper Series 1600MHz 8GB x2 and 2GB Stick
PSU: Be Quiet! Pure Power 10 600W and Be Quiet! Straight Power 10 600W.

There is no way that it is the PSU now as I have doubles of almost everything and have the same result.

I'm at a loss as to what it could be now. Now that the Uni term has started I'm going to need the support software on it... :L

I've also tried going through the guide that is available on here going through what should be done about having no POST, Video and so on but it's been unsuccessful.

The only thing you don't have two of is the gpu? Tested with another one?
Tested with other mouse/keyboard?
After switching motherboards did you reinstall windows? Don't know if this is important seeing you use Linux as well which seems,if i'm reading right, default OS via the GRUB,but can't hurt to ask.:)
