I've recently come to my computer and I'm unable to fully get into my drive, sometimes i can open certain files and view certain vids, photo's a doc's then other times it wont let me view the same documents or files. When i check disk management its showing up as storage (D: NTFS healthy (basic data partition) not raw, but when i got to do a certain CMD command chkdsk D: /f/r its saying:

" The type of file system is RAW. chkdsk is not available for RAW drives "

which is really puzzling. I have also tried to error check the drive but it doesn't seem to be scanning the drive, i get a popup box which says "repair this drive" followed by "Windows has found errors on this drive that needs to be repaired. Close this dialogue box and then repair the drive"

I've tried the command running from the installation disk and in safe mode with no sucesss, however safe mode does allow me to partially enter the drive to view some of the storage but not all and its completely random whenever i turn the PC on. If i was to try on normal mode i wont be able to view any of it. I'm completely out of idea's im hoping you guys have more experience with this as than me as the files on this drive are important.

Thanks.

1) How old is the SSD?
2) Are you able to go into Disk Defragmentation and run a trim operation on the drive?
3) Try powering off, unplug the drive, do a complete power-up and down again (with the drive unplugged), reconnect the drive, and check it's status again.
4) Is it detected correctly by BIOS?
5) What happens when you try to run chkdsk /r /f and/or sfc /scannow from Safe Mode w/ Command Prompt? Do you receive errors?

EDIT #1:
Take a look at this similar topic and some of the things mentioned to try regarding the chipset and NVME drivers.
