Hi, im a first time poster on the forum but I always come here when im having PC issues and there's usually a solution here.

I'm having Issues with a PC i've recently built, when playing games like Warthunder, R6 siege, GTA V, BF4, Generation zero and even Minecraft (with shaders) quite often my game freezes randomly and hard locks the PC, initially when it freezes i can still hear audio and even talk with my friends on discord but then everything cuts out and i cant do anything except hard restart my PC. additionally quite often games like GTA V crash with an error of "Failed to initialize" (which was solved by switching the game to directx 10) and BF4/Generation zero often crash with an error of "DirectX function GetDeviceRemovedReason failed with dxgi_error_device_hung", And in Warthunder i have had issues with "Video driver hung and was restarted texture quality was lowered"

Additionally i had a weird issue in blender where shadows would not render when i had motion blur turned on in animations but they would appear if i rendered on the CPU? (Running blender 2.8, Cycles render engine through the GPU)

Before this i was plagued by black screen crashes, BSOD's which after trying a bunch of fixes haven't popped up again.

The PC never freezes or crashes outside of playing demanding video games and seems to happen randomly it could happen 2 minutes into a game or 2 hours.

System:

Ryzen 5 3600 (I did OC to 4.2ghz but put it back stock speeds and that didnt help) (latest chipset drivers installed)

MSI B450 Tomahawk max (I flashed to latest BIOS "7C02v36")

Corsair Vengence LPX 16GB (2x8gb) DDR4-3600 (Using a-XMP profile through the bios)

Gigabyte Radeon Rx5700xt 8GB Gaming OC

Corsair TXM Gold 650w (Brand new)

Western digital blue 1TB Sata SSD (which windows is installed on) (Also Brand new)

Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 18363

I am using a DP connecting hooked up to a single Benq XL2411P 144hz monitor.

Fixes and troubleshooting i have tried:

  1. Using DDU to reinstall drivers and trying multiple different gpu driver versions (19.12.1, 19.12.2, 20.2.2, 20.2.4) (tried installing both Auto and Manual)
  2. Using Factory reset in Radeon software and clearing shader cache.
  3. Setting PCI-E interface to Gen 3 only instead of Auto in the BIOS
  4. Disabling on-board Audio
  5. Re-installing windows
  6. Running System File Checker in the command prompt
  7. Connecting the GPU with 2 PCI-e cables instead of 1 single Y-split.
  8. Under-volting the GPU (auto-undervolt and Manually)
  9. Re-seating the RAM and the GPU.
  10. Running Windows memory diagnostic tool (No errors found)
  11. Disabling all settings in radeon software (No freesync, Radeon chill, Anti-lag) (when installing 2020 radeon drivers setting to Standard mode and putting all settings like Anti-Aliasing to use application settings)
  12. Setting Tdr level to 0 under graphic drivers in Regedit
  13. Monitoring my temps in the Radeon software (Nothing is over heating)
  14. Updating windows to latest version and/or disabling updates.
  15. Turning off windows "Game mode"
  16. Setting Power plan to AMD Ryzen High performance or Ryzen Balanced.
  17. Flashing BIOS to latest version
  18. Disabling all monitoring software
  19. Disabling all hardware acceleration on apps like Steam, Chrome, Discord and any other background processes that are open when i play games.
  20. Using windows + ctrl + shift + B when PC freezes
  21. Windows event viewer shows 85 critial cases of Driverframework-usermode where the hosting process has been terminated due to a problem occuring (the number of cases increases after each game crash)
  22. Running DxDiag
IMAGES OF DIAGNOSTIC LOGS AND ERRORS

If anyone has a solution or a answer to what is causing my issues it would be much appreciated, i've been having a nightmare with this the past few months.

I want to blame the GPU ultimately due to so many other people having issues with it but i dont want to RMA it and get a different card like an RTX and have the same issues persisting.

Many thanks.

I had similar issues while playing games, and a driver only install fixed it. A few months ago I went with a full Radeon software install. Its been stable for me for the last 3 driver releases, but before that I was running drivers only.
