Hi,

Brand new pc, built it myself. all new components barring gpu and ssd/hdd.

Running windows 11.

For two times now when I lock my PC, I can't get back it into. The screen goes off, and no matter if I click the power button, the mouse, or keyboard, the screen just won't come back on. I have to reset the pc by holding down the power button.

When it happened today, I thought i could hear a humming noise.

I turned up the speakers and it sounded like when the speakers go when the PC BSODs,.

I've turned the pc on and gone into event viewer - here is what I have, can't make much sense of it so hoping someone here can.

"Event 49: Kernel Boot"

This is the error that occured around the time I locked the PC. Running sfc/scannow now to see if any corruption issue

EDIT: Yep, no corruption issues found

What are specs of the PC?

Have you got newest GPU drirvers?

latest BIOS on motherboard?

Event 49 is: POP_ETW_EVENT_ZEROPAGEFILE_START
ETW - Event Tracing for Windows
ZEROPAGEFILE_START - this happens at shutdown, its part of process of turning PC off during hibernate

Gigabyte B660 Gaming X DDR4
16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB
Gigabyte GTX 1050 2GB
Crucial MX500 SSD
WD Blue 1TB

bios may not be up to date but the GPU drivers are. Could it be something relating to the RGB because the RGB on the ram turns off when I lock my pc

I have the same ram and if I go into lock mode, the ram swaps from software profile to hardware, so if you haven't set a hardware profile, it could go off. You set it using Icue.

latest BIOS is from last month - https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B660-GAMING-X-DDR4-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios

Are you using RGB Fusion? I had a problem with it where the rgb on motherboard wouldn't turn off at shutdown, and when i went to wake PC up, the screen and USB wouldn't work, I had to turn the power off on PSU to get the RGB to go off before I could turn PC off.

I solved that by uninstalling RGB Fusion as its pretty bad software really.

The icue is very bad software. It's so bloody complicated to use i can't get my head round it. NZXT Cam is so much better.

how many different rgb programs are you using?

i tried to work this out and just use one piece of software for all of it - https://www.signalrgb.com/devices/
Icue not that bad really. I use it as I have 3 Corsair things that use rgb

Just Cam and iCue. I can't work out whats the difference between "scenes" and profiles. I currently use a static red scene, one of the defaults. I tried creating a hardware profile but the colour on the ram would just get locked to one colour and i couldn't change it

i edited your post, the table still there but its hiding

WHEA logger. WHEA - Windows Hardware Error Architecture.
there are WHEA BSOD that I could do without. But you not getting bsod.

RGB
I am not sure what NZXT Cam Scenes are, I can't find any results online for them.
Icue Profiles are color patterns for the lighting. The only reason that I have 7 as my keyboard remembers that many and many of them are just blank otherwise

looking around I see you can download some for games and set it up so the colours change based on which game you playing. I just leave mine the same all the time.

You might as well set this up and see if it does show any results
Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

  1. Open Windows File Explore
  2. Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump
  3. Copy the mini-dump files out onto your Desktop
  4. Do not use Winzip, use the built in facility in Windows
  5. Select those files on your Desktop, right click them and choose 'Send to' - Compressed (zipped) folder
  6. Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.)
  7. Then post a link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .

Sure but like you said, it's not a BSOD its just a freeze.
I made a new thread on this because I now know its not a BSOD, and despite uninstalling icue I am still having the issue
