I have a funny opinion with moving Windows 7 to another HW platform. First of all I *know* that I didn't do it correct way anyway I want to share it with community.
I had a Win 7 Ultimate system based on AMD 9590, correctly installed and tuned. Since AMD don't provide a graphic power I needed especially for flight sims despite of 220 W thermal output, I decided to buy i7-4790K on MSI Z97 GAMING 5 rig. I assembled it together, backed up the old system, took a system disk with AMD based installation of Win7 and started on new hardware. I expected an usual windoze protesting and was prepared for complete system installation.
To my big surprise the system started more-less consistently, only network didn't work. Logically there weren't a proper drivers for Qualcomm NIC. But after only netcard drivers installation (and different chipset drivers installation) everything started to play together. All apps retained their registration etc. It seemed that I spared some one week of work with building up the new Win7 system from scratch.
But after few days I found that I cannot connect my Prestigio 5430 (Android 4.0.4) phone on USB. All other USB connections work flawlessly (for my flight simming I use Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar and Trackir3, both USB connected, two USB mice and USB keyboard), recognition and driver installation no problemo
, just Android I am not able to connect in any way...
After connecting Prestigio system declares "USB device not recognized", but in devmgmt it is listed as unknown device WITHOUT exclamation mark. Only one interesting thing is Driver Node Strong name parameter: usb.inf:Generic.Section.NTamd64:BADDEVICE.Dev:6.1.7601.18328:usb\unknown
When I uninstall this particular device in devmgmt and leave the phone connected on USB, after reboot the system FREEZES after POST and moves further only when I disconnect the phone. MSI motherboard has a digital display with hexacode, in freeze this code shows "onboard devices initialize and detect". Funny...
If anybody has a similar opinion, plse freely contact me. I count surely that my last resort will be a correct system installation
