When trying to delete a file, I get the "it is used" message.
I'm looking for a program that knows which is the program/user that holds a
specific file.
i.e. I wanna know which program holds the file c:\temp\x.y .

Hi Janiv,

Google on "process watcher", there are a ton of free utilities out there
that will do this for you.

You will need a utility such as the one suggested.

Hi

Download Process Explorer from SysInternals (task manager on
steroids) and select "Find Handle..." under Find (or just use
the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F). Fill in the file name.

The first reply suggested that you Google for "process watcher." That's
looking for the utility. Did you do that? If not consider Process Explorer
8.x is on ZDNet under Downloads/Windows/Utilities, it if I remember it
correctly.
