[SOLVED] It takes A LOT OF TIME to SHUT DOWN pc..

I bought, built, my pc a few weeks ago and recently i've experienced long shut downs on Windows 10.
It happens sometimes, not always, when I press shut down button in start menu, monitor turns off, keyboard and mouse turns off, you can't use them or wake up pc, but all the fans still work, motherboard lights, noises, then it turns off finally after 5-7mins maybe.
So it's not in sleep mode, hibernate like some guy had the issue and it happens maybe 1 in 7 times.
I used pc for a few hours, then at the end it was on idle for half an hour, temperatures were fine, perfect, before shutting down.
Is it some background process, is it a Windows issue or my components?
Can anyone help me, please?

Your PC specs? Build date? May be RAM issue? Try resetting your PC after making backup of all your data

Everything bought new, MSI B450M MORTAR MAX, RYZEN 5 2600, RX 580 8GB, 2x8GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE 3000MHz.

Could it be just your cooling fan that's running? If you have an I/O activity light, you could check to see if it's blinking.

Do you have latest BIOS for motherboard?
Have you run live update 6 - itrs on utility tab here - https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450M-MORTAR-MAX#down-driver&Win10 64 - it will confirm you have latest drivers for motherboard.

could try turning fast startup off - https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4189-turn-off-fast-startup-windows-10-a.html - if that fixes it, could show its a startup program or driver causing it.


resetting bios to defaults might help as sometimes its a BIOS power setting conflicting with windows.

I have recently reset BIOS to defaults and found somewhere to troubleshoot Power in settings, so I've done that and it said we have fixed slow sleeping and booting or something like that, nothing about slow shutdown, but maybe its fixed, we'll see. Haven't happend again yet. I'll wait.
If I turn off fast startup, would it boot slower or much slower than now?
I've checked and downloaded latest drivers and utilities from their website, thanks.

The effect of turning fast startup off depends on if you have an SSD/NVME or HDD.
Fast startup was created to speed up boot times on hdd.
What it does is saves a copy of running drivers + windows kernel into ram at shutdown, and then puts PC into a sleep state. On startup, since part of windows is already running, it speeds up boot times on hdd.
On ssd/NVME, the drives are so fast there is no reason to use it, On or off the boot speed is about same on solid state.
If you turn it off, the PC is actually off when you shut it down. Handy if you sometimes need to unplug PC afterwards.

I have (M.2) Kingston R/W - 2000/2200 MB/s, so it shouldn't be a problem then.
