Well I believe my current setup is about to take a dive soon.. so I looked around a bit and want new stuff! Currently my setup is:
P4 3.0c
Asus P4C800 Deluxe
512x2 Corsair XMS3200
Nvidia GFFX 5900
160 WD 160GB HDD

I have a budget of around $500.00 and was eyeballing the Radeon X800XL for the vid card. I've been looking for a mobo that still supports my CPU and has an x16 slot but I've only found one, the Albatron PX915P4 PRO. I can't find anything on it though. Has it been released yet or scrapped altogether? I really don't think I can afford a new 775 CPU but if it comes to it, I guess I'd opt for the cheapest one. I think I saw a 2.8 for 160.00 or so. I've also heard that 478 processors don't run that good with Pci-e. I haven't read up on any of this stuff in awhile, so I'm looking for a short briefing on what's good these days.

So can anyone recommend a good, reliable, fairly priced mobo that can handle a 478 CPU with an x16 slot? If it's non existent I'm interested in hearing about a decent mobo for the 775 processors as well. I miiight be able to stretch my budget.... damn you computers!

there are few mobos out there that slap a 478 socket onto a 9 series chipset, but they are horrid performers, and hard to find. also, the x800 xl will be available in AGP soon, and the performance diff for agp and pci-e is still non-existent. my opinon for your upgrade: get an x800 XL agp once the price settles down to about $300, then buy yourself a nice, solid copper heatsink and a new case fan or two, and oc that p4 to about 3.4Ghz. it's stretching your budget a little, but i would spring for some 2-2-2-5 400mhz ddr. can be had for as little as $200 and will oc just fine along with your proc at relaxed timings and extra voltage. good luck.

The market is real good for your current rig. You should look at going A64-939 and E-bay your current parts. You could get an IS7 and clock-up to 3.6ghz, get a X800XL, and call it a day but where would you be next year? JMHO
