" scissors, a straight blade, and a nail file/screwdriver. For the not-so-adventurous, the tool also provides USB 2.0 and eSATA II connectivity, a 32-bit processor with hardware error correction, secure data encryption, and dynamic power management. There's even an LCD/e-paper display that shows how much space is available on the drive."

There's even a "flight friendly" version to please airport security checkpoints, offering the knife/SSD duo without the suspicious tools.

Uhh, so this one's just a standard flash drive I guess? Extra special deal: knife/SSD combo minus the pesky knife feature!

MacGyver would surely use one of these nowadays to get out of elevators, unlock electronic doorlocks, power on modern cars, and copy all the data from the bad guys in an instant :)

That's a really cool idea from them, but it's mostly geeks and daily user who rarely go camping that use USB drive, and Victorinox is like every wild life enthusiasts wet dream :) What they really needed to do was to use the standard tools a cross head screwdriver, a flat one, a mini nose pliers, etc etc instead of the knife and scissors.
And that would be every computer users wet dream.....

WoW , the swiss army knife was allways known for being awesome, but this is ridiculous.

And why aren't we seeing these in ipods?

Cause apple cannot be compared with the swiss. The swiss pure epic power would melt the ipod/iphone's/ipad/iwhatevers.

Its a conspiracy, their selling point is for geeks that want to feel manly.....

"Are you one of the nerds that dont leave the house very often but dont want to feel left out? Here is the flash drive for you! It has 256GB so you can store everything you want on it. Just incase you are ever lost in the woods, you are able to hunt for food with the built-in knife, use the screwdriver to take you laptop apart, trim your nails with the nail file or cut leaves into paper dolls with scissors while you wait to be rescued.

Disclaimer: Yes we did say the flash drive is waterproof and shock-resistant but its not animal proof. Lets face it your not cut out for the wild and chances are, it will get damaged. We do not guarantee against data lost with this in your hands."

I thought it was cool. And no, having a knife isn't to feel manly - are you on Brokeback revenge? Having a swiss army knife is incredibly useful; well, for someone that likes to be self-sufficient anyways. Cutting wires, opening boxes, stabbing annoying forum commentors... ya know. :D

I was also shocked it wasn't USB 3.0.

hmm now thats security, a built in knife to physically help you protect from data loss (IE mugging) ... granted its a pretty tiny knife you might be better off just keeping it hidden and hoping they don't find it on you
