I've recently purchased a Blue Snowball iCE microphone and it has really bad quality and I'm not sure why. It says it is really good quality and what I am receiving is not what I expected and I am thinking of returning it. When I got it I plugged it into my pc and it worked but the quality is so bad. Anyone have any ideas how to make this better?

Do by bad quality do you mean it just sounds bad or it's quiet or it's picking up a lot of background noise or what? Also the snowball ice is the budget version of a budget microphone. Don't expect studio quality sound from a $40 microphone. Also did you change any settings? Because to make it sound good you need to change settings.

In the program you are using you can change the settings for it. And you can get a filter on some programs to block background noise. It might be called a noise gate. You can also turn the sensitivity down and talk louder or move it closer.

Did you simply plug it in and expect it to take over?

It's possible that you're PC's built-in microphone is still in use. You'll need to go into your PC's settings to verify that the built-in microphone is disabled and that the Snowball Ice is enabled. Which operating system are you using?
