J72 Toshiba canvio won't power up

When i plug the ac adapter into the toshiba canvio 2tb no lights come on..Could it be the adapter?

Yes, it is possible that the ac adapter is faulty. You will have to try connecting the drive with another one. If the issue persists though, there is also a possibility that there is something wrong with the enclosure. If this is the case, you will need to take the drive out of the enclosure in case you need the data. Keep in mind that this will most probably void the warranty. If you don't need the data and the drive is under warranty, I guess you can contact the manufacturer.

Ok I ordered a new adapter that will be delivered tomorrow..I will try that..If it doesn't work how can I remove the drive from the enclosure case safely

I believe that there are quite a lot of video tutorials on how to open up externals(youtube lets say). You can just check them out. Also, make sure that the model you have is not hardware encrypted.
