Jack on front of speaker?

I did a search and found nothing, but on the front of one of my PC Speakers there is a jack. I assumed it was for headphones, but they do not work when I plug them in. What is this jack used for? The icon next to the jack shows an arrow pointing to the right and a symbol of a "musical note" Silly question. Thanks.

what the model of the speakers..without that info we cant help you. some of the gusses would be a sub woffer plug.

Yes those are the speakers I haven't tried plugging a mic into it.
