Java not Installing

I'm trying to download java and install it... but when I try to open the installer it starts and then instantly closes. I don't even see the window. All I know is that when I look at task manager Java SE binary starts up and then disappears instantly. I don't know if there is like a download that is making it hard to install, or something, but yeah.

Is Windows running in Safe Mode?

What other programs are running (including background processes)?

Where did you get this download from?

I got it from pressing the first link when you type in download java in google. I'm running Windows 10. I have no idea how to activate safe mode or if it is on at all!

It's hard to trigger Safe Mode by accident, and you'd know it if it was active because the desktop background would be black and the words Safe Mode would be displayed in all three corners.

There may be programs running in the background that are preventing the installer from running correctly. Please open the Start Menu, open the power menu and hold Shift while you click on Restart. You'll be taken to an advanced startup menu. Select Safe Mode With Networking, run the installer while in Safe Mode.

This is the selected Best Answer from another very similar post. It seems that the poster was experiencing the same issue you're having.

Had the same problem.
I've done all according to Oracle help, but without luck (try disabling AntiAliasing in video card control panel).

Then, I've found this:
1. copy java installer file to root directory of C: partition (administrator rights needed)
2. launch Command Prompt window with administrator rights (Run as administrator)
3. type name of java installer file in Command Prompt window and press Enter

This is it, it's working!
