JAVA UPDATES for pc

HI,I just got a notification about a JAVA update and when i went to their web site it said i had to run their PC UTILITY program and scan my PC WHICH we ALL KNOW WILL SAY I HAVE THOUSANDS OF problems with my PC,can you get these so called updates without running their PC SCAN,thanks

when you go to update java do just that and nothing more. these programs are just useless addons and are not worth the powder to blow them to hell.you see this junk as an option when you download all sorts of stuff.stay away from them.

Beware of the java installer too. It sometimes defaults to install chrome, mcafee, or some other stuff. Uncheck those before proceeding.

one other thing i forgot to mention is,you dont even need java.its mostly used by bussiness and can be uninstalled from your computer with no problem. it is also a malware magnet. yes browsers use scripts but not java.internet explorer uses activex while firefox and others use java script (not to be confused with java).keep in mind there are bad (harmful) scripts out there so i recommend running some kind of protection. avast has it built in or there is another program called no script but there is a bit of a learning curve to use it.bottom line,i havent run java in quite some time and not a problem.

Hello... I agree with aldan... I have not needed to install Java on my latest build, and have not run into any internet search/viewing problems.
