We all celebrated today in Perth and one of the radio station did an interview with John about his epic mission on Friendship 7 ... watching Perth which he coined as the "City of Lights" which he could see out of his capsule window while he orbited the planet.

Though Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins got mankind to the moon I am still amazed at the early Mercury amd Apollo missions using the relatively unmodified Redstone and Atlas rockets, then the Titans et, al.

RIP to the guys who gave their lives along the way to get them into space:

"Gus" Grissom
Ed White
Roger Chaffee
Ted Freeman
Elliot See
Charlie Bassett
Clifton Williams

I wish John and all of the other astronauts and engineers and tech the best.

Ill need some serious upgrades to my CPU before I have the computing power to be considered an astronaut.

I might also need a an upgrade to the size of my balls to sit at the head of missile large enough to get a payload to space.

It blows my mind thinking that a graphing calculator today was 10x more powerful than the systems used to get man to the moon. Hopefully we will. take a trip back sometime soon.

I hope I live to see the first colony on another planet. Is it too much to ask to be the captain?

We have more technology in our cell phones today than they had when they were launching missions to the moon. :)

I wouldn't mind being on that rocket. If something did go wrong you'd never know it, or at least feel it.
