Actually I have noticed on a personal level that when playing video games, I often get agitated and pretty angry for no particular reason other than doing badly in the game I'm playing. I mean, I want to SMASH and KILL everyone around me!! I WANT TO KILL YOU ALL YOU \#$^#$ !!!

And all of that hate from playing SIM CITY. That game is BRUTAL!!!

peace :)

I have played video games of all types since the Atari 2600. Most Gen X's grew up playing video games. As for as I know the first generation to do that. I turned out fine. It comes down to the parents and the up bringing of their children. My parents had no problems with video games, but they did check to see what kind I was playing and when I was playing them till I got old enough to decide for myself. They made sure that school, and work came first THEN video games. They basically got involved with what I did from the beginning and that's the key. If you don't by the time they start to reach teenage years, even if you take into effect the natural rebelliousness by that time, its already to late. Parents need to learn video games are not a babysitter and should not be treated as such. There is no substitute for good parenting.

"Did they ban the 3 stooges or the road runner. there were no Games to play in the early 60's and people were still killing each other but our elected officials only stand on issues that appeal to fringe groups on the left and the right glad to see a common sense ruling for once"

They would probably ban them today. Sorry to say.

Blaming video games for making kids violent is the lamest idea anyone could ever have thought of. First of all, the adults have all the control. If you don't want you kid playing violent games, just don't buy it. Also, about the kid who shot his parents because of Halo3, how did he get his hands on the gun and loaded at that? Doesn't make sense to me at all!

LMAO, the people who want to stop violence in video games are the same rednecks who want every american to have a gun, who say it's god will's to drop bombs in iraq ans who are in favor to let you burn on a eletric chair if you killed someone. That's pathetic.

Absolutely zero affect, violent media period has no affect. If some idiot wants to go on a killing spree it wont take a bad round of halo to spark that action. Legislators need to stop trying to use the easy scapegoat and QQ about something more important. In the end parents need to actually be just that PARENTS, and monitor what your kids play/watch.

I am not sure whether this ruling will make pornography available to children(which should clearly be illegal). But as a staunch Libertarian, I applaud any deference shown to personal liberty and personal discernment.
