Ok i got 2 980tis in sli and the first one is get hotter then the other one and I got three monitors on it so the power consumption sit at 21 % and the second one sit at 4.4 and gets way less hotter temp on idle and in game so my question is can I plug my monitors into the second gpu instead of the first one and will my sli work the same that easy as it did when they were plugged into the first gpu?

when you plug 2 cards in SLI , the first one uses the second one as additional GPU power, that cards being used cannot be used for independent video (how it works with ATI Cards I will assume its the same for NVIDIA

And of it will work I'm thinking the second one will sit at 21% power consumption and sit at a lower temp then the first one.

And I just got the 2k monitor and before I got it my first gpu use to idle at 5% power consumption
