Hello all.

From recommendations I've seen on this forum, I decided to buy a surge protector for my gaming PC. It's just a 500 joule Hyper Tough 14 gauge, but it's a fine start and was only $3 at walmart.

I currently have my PC and Monitor plugged in - I'm wondering if i should plug in my air purifier to it as well? Or it best to keep as little things plugged in as possible? I'm only wondering because with my other power strip, my fan tends to get weaker if I plug more things into the power strip it's on. Would that be the same for my monitor and PC if I plugged additional things into the surge protector? Would it decrease performance?

Thank you.

Solution
Because cheap ones only have on Zener diode across phases and if that blows because of overload you get a short and that can blow more than just a fuse, So either keep load to minimum or get a proper automatic voltage regulator.
