Hiya All,

Ive just ordered a new mboard GA7N400 Pro 2, and i am just wondering if my
graphic card will be okay in it.

It is a LeadTek A250 TDH, Geforce 4 Ti4600, im only wondering because it
says something about 1.5v at the beginning of the manual, and i cant find
out how much voltage this card uses.

Also, if ive got 2 x 512 mb PC3200 sticks, and a AMD XP 2600+ CPU, will they
be okay also.

Just asking, because the reason ive bought this mboard, is due to the fact
that my old GA 7VAXP-A Ultra, bought the farm after only a year, and i have
been refunded, luckily enough the Memory and CPU have been checked and they
are okay.

Ta for any info.

Yes, if the card worked in the VAXP-A Ultra it will work in the 7N400Pro2.
The cpu will work, and so will the RAM, but no guarantee it will work in
Dual Channel mode (which in practice gives almost no discernable performance
advantage as far as I can see - I swapped 1 stick of generic PC2700 for
matched pair of Corsair TwinX without noticeable improvement).

You will find that the main difference in installing the board in your case
is that the 7VA series have 2 USB ports on the back, and 4 via motherboard
headers, whereas the 7N400 series have 4 ports at the back and 2 on
mainboard headers, which is, in my opinion, a less useful config.

What size of corsair TwinX? The question I have is the 512MB (2x256MB)
Corsair TwinX Single or Double Sided? I want to buy first 512MB and
later on 512MB again and to be able to have 4 memory modules installed
they need to be single sided in slot 3 and slot 4.

Horst

didn't the vaxp ultra use a via chipset?
If that's the case, then beware if you're running Win XP.

when I upgraded from a vaxp to 7n 400 pro2, I had to re-install windows on
the C drive, due to the new board using the nforce cipset.

thgere might be a way of doing a windows xp repair, but i couldn't get it to
work.

perhaps someone on this group could help you out with detaiuls

other than that the 7n400 board has run like dream
good luck
