Hello everyone, I just built myself a pc for the first time and when I click the power button the pc turns on, lights on, fans spinning, etc. but the monitor won't, it is connected through VGA to my onboard graphics of my CPU I think. I have tried 2 monitors which won't work which leads me to believe it is a problem with my computer itself. I took static precautions when building and my mouse lights turn on when plugged into usb, so power shouldn't be an issue. I am leaving clearing the CMOS until I have checked the hardware and wiring is correct. Thank you!

Solution
I suggest removing the CPU and checking the CPU socket. See if any bent pins (try taking a good resolution picture and posting it here).

There aren't any bent pins- I'll inspect the setup in more detail, perhaps there's a broken cable.

Now the cpu seems to have power I have a red DRAM light in A2, so I will move it back to the far slot

Please, before removing any components in your computer, make sure you unplug the PSU from the source power. The recommendation to use slot "A2" was from your motherboard manual that I downloaded and read on your behalf.

Asus recommends that you use dimm_a2 for a single memory stick.

OK, I Seem to be on the right track now, however the fans do not spin and there is just a two pronged (molex???) connector attached to the case which may be the controller for them. Where on earth do I plug that in because right now I am dumbfounded!!!
