Question Just finished building first PC, but monitor not reading signal

Hey everyone, I just finished building my first pc. I’ve plugged it in, all my lights are turning on, all my fans are running and everything looks good, the only problem is when I plug it into my monitor with my hdmi cord the monitor still says no signal. Does anyone know why it’s doing this, or if I missed something like a simple mistake? Thanks

Is the monitor plugged into an HDMI port on the RX 580, rather than the motherboard? The motherboard ports are intended for integrated graphics, which a 2600X doesn't have.

yes the hdmi is plugged into the motherboard, no the gpu
