Hey guys,

Just finished a build and have been researching "no display on new pc build" for hours now.

Here's what I've tried:
  • Reseating all connections
  • Multiple displays (also confirmed display is working with other device)
  • mobo DisplayPort instead of HDMI port
  • Different cables
  • Checked CPU for bent pins (all good)
  • Removed Graphics Card to test onboard video (Still doesn't work)
  • Cleared CMOS by removing battery for 10 mins + Jumper reset
  • Disconnected hard drives
  • Tried each RAM stick individually in all four possible slots
  • Removed mouse and keyboard
So I just got done building this beast and it has yet to see the light of a display. Haven't seen BIOS once. It doesn't have a mobo speaker so I can't hear any beeps. All fans and other components are running.

Here's my NEW build (pcpartpicker's Magnificent AMD Build):
  • AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor
  • Corsair H115i RGB PLATINUM 97 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
  • ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX AM4 Motherboard (Perhaps faulty?)
  • OLOy WarHawk RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
  • Hitachi Ultrastar 7K4000 4 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8 GB Video Card
  • Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower Case
  • EVGA 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply
  • Noctua NF-F12 PWM chromax.black.swap 54.97 CFM 120 mm Fan (x2)
  • Team Group GX1 2.5" 960GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Bad motherboard???

Thank you!

Hey guys. Thanks for the responses. I've put the card in and made certain of solid connection. Now when I boot, the mobo is reporting an issue in the VGA and boot LEDs. Still nothing on monitor.

I don't know guys. Same issue. Neither of those efforts worked unfortunately. It sounds like the card is trying to boot itself about 3 times. It's onboard fans rev up for about 2 seconds at a time (3 times).

Begin by restarting your system. Press the power button for a few seconds until the system reboots. Most motherboards power-on self-test (POST) or beep when there's a booting issue. If that is the case, refer to the motherboard manual to interpret.

Oh damn! I put the board back in the first slot, doubled up power to the card as well as the CPU, and then (which I think was the key) I pulled the battery for 10 minutes and reset CMOS. I'm seeing the light!!! Thank you guys so much! Rock on.

Quick edit: I removed the second power cables from both the CPU and GPU (now they're back to using a single cable / default amount of power) and things are still working.
