I don't want to ghost and is there any way of putting a 30GB game on it without redownloading because I probaly will be doing a fresh install to get win 8.1 off my HDD.

For optimum results, remove the current hard drive - and install Windows from DVD or Flash Drive. After all is installed, you can plug in the hard drive, backup the user data, then remove the partitions from the drive and recreate a single partition (if you don't do this - you may find the system boots from your hard drive, not the SSD).

After formatted, restore your user data to either the SSD or the hard drive.

Im doing a fresh install of 8.1 on my SSD then installing my HDD but wont win 8.1 still be on my HDD aswell, how do I prevent this?

Yes Windows will still on it. You cant prevent this because it is already on the HDD. I just took all the data off the HDD at this point and reformatted the HDD. This is When i put in my windows7 code, Which im not sure if it made a difference putting the code in after reformatting or not, but it shouldnt

Keep both drives connected and run the win DVd or USB installer. Go into the list of drives where it gives you the list and delete the partition and format the HDD. Shutdown and disconnect the HDD. Boot up and install windows on the SSD. When you plug in your HDD it will be completely empty.

If you want a clean install, start by backing up the files you want to keep onto a external hard drive.

Next you need to google how to create a windows 8.1 image file onto a flash drive or DVD. The fastest method is a flash drive if you have a good one handy. You may need to go into your BIOS (usually press the delete key on your keyboard while booting up), and select the boot order to USB and/or CD ROM depending on which method you are choosing.

Once you boot up with the windows image on a USB drive, your BIOS should recognize it and you go through the process to reinstall windows on your new SSD. From there you can format the other hard drive either in BIOS or enter windows to do it. You will then need to reinstall all your current drivers including motherboard stuff, graphics card, etc.

And for your game, depends on how you downloaded it to start. Did you download it to a zip/install file? If you did, save that zip file on the external hard drive. If it's an MMO or similar, you will probably need to redownload and patch it.

Note most games you can find your save game files and save them to an external drive, so you won't lose your game progress when you reinstall the game on the new drive. I can't tell you were because I don't know what game(s) you are talking about. Google is your friend.
