I just bought a Samsung Evo 850 to replace a 15K SAS in my Dell Precision T3400. Now i just did a clone of my old installation from the SAS over to the Samsung, which had the ATA option in the BIOS enabled. Now i did try changing it to AHCI. but the computer BSODed before it would even boot, so i guess I would need to do a full OS install.
But in its current state, the Samsung Magician software is telling me, when i benchmark the drive, that I'm getting the following:
Read = 178 MB/s out of 540
Write = 217 MB/s out of 520
Random Read = 8293 out of 98000
Random Write = 14840 out of 90000
Now would reinstalling the OS with AHCI fix this low benchmark? Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks
