Just ordered new CPU, will it make a difference?

Right now, my specs are: GTX 460 1GB GPU (oc'd), intel core 2 duo e8400, 4GB ddr2 ram, on a 24in 1080p monitor (1920x1080).

I just ordered an i5 2500k with a new mobo and 8GB of ddr3 RAM. My fps in bf3 as well as batman have been suffering, hence the upgrade (I didn't have the money to get a new GPU too, figured the CPU was more important in this case).

Will I notice a significant improvement with the new CPU (I will be overclocking)?
