anybody got any idea why i'm unable to boot from dvd with this ?
i set the boot seq in bios to cd first, then the next 2 (or 3) disabled and
finally boot from other device enabled but it just wont boot.
i'm using a brand new dvd drive and brand new dvd media so it cant be those
at fault

I have this same board and it works fine. I do remember having to play
around with the settings a bit but can't recall what I did. Seems I had
to play around with the 2nd device as to being disabled or HD0. I could
not get it to boot from CD with boot device #1=CD, #2=floppy and #3=hd0.

got it. i had to disable 1'st and 2'nd boot devices and set the third as
cd,rom which still didnt work but after that the boot manager kicked
in............ then said ta-ta. at which point the dvd booted.

strange method but it worked :-D
