I've gotta say that 4 cores doesn't really seem all that appealing to me. Especially since dual core is finally starting to pick up some real steam. I'm hoping that app and game programmers will start actually utilizing these "multi-core" CPU's before we take off in to the "10-core" realm. It just seems like WAY too soon to already be thinking 4 cores. (anyone else share these thoughts?) I wish that even now the current dual cores could use the second core for something like physics processing. (a PPU just seems like a waste of money in it's current form... just check out the most recent Tom's review) Anyway, the only way I can see wanting a quad core machine is if say in games they could work it so that one core does AI, one core does physics, one runs your background apps, and one does whatever single core would normally process during games. That seems like it would be good utilization, but hey... what do I know?

EDIT: After posting this reply, I started a topic on it... check it out.

coolaler sold his kentsfield E6700 already on yahoo auctions... 1337 dollars was how much it was sold for

Isn't it ironic that it sold for leet, aka 1337 dollars?

naw, he started the bid for 20 bucks usd... then sum1 payed 40,000nt for it, roughly 1337 usd

Because the performance factor of the render reads 3.23 times.
hey, at least Intel got an ES floating around.

AMD's quad core is technically non-exist at the moment. AMD simply does not have a working ES to compare with Kentsfield.

and you're calling Kentsfield sucks?

what an idiotic fanboy..

heh not really, dont expect that for months concidering AMD (er... IBM) cant even get 65nm workin right yet, so Instead, i give you Quad core conroe (aka Kentsfield, 2xConroes) benchmarks, put that in your pipe and smoke it 9nm 😉

PS im expecting your "FAKE FAKE FAKE" - fanboys are expected 😉

cheerio

I bet you're proud of yourself...good for you!

Shame tho that Intel Quad core is following the same poor implementation as the Pentium D...Hey, maybe they'll market it as the Pentium Q... 8O

Q for queer like your post and this thread...

Good one.......

Being a fanboy doesnt help noone... if AMD was the big boy , they would do the same like intel did.
They dont care about consumers , they care only about one thing, maximum profit.
So the one who can give us the best bang for the buck wins , no matter who makes the silicon.
I'd go for Core 2 duo right now, but who knows for 2007.
Its like a cat and mouse game , now intel is on top , maybe next year AMD.(who knows what they will pull out of their sleeve.
