Just got 2 WDC 250 gig sata drives for my computer and ended up with them on the via sata raid controller of my board. they did not want to format at all.....reseated the cables and I was off.....but I have a small problem that i have not really seen before.... from time to time my computer seems to have like a quarter second freeze then go back.... never know when it will happen.... it can be anything from just switching windows to watching DVD's... all i hear is like a frozen sound all video stops and then all comes back.... I can not make it happen on command..... i have updated all my driver, reseated components, cleaned contacts and am not realy sure what to make of it.....feels like windows does not like this load...also noticed that my cpu usage was rather high while doing my 80 file transfer from one comp to another at least 35-40 percent as appose to the 15-20 on the other computer. does anyone here have this board or one with the same via raid controller.... I feel I may be running out of bandwidth as HDtach claims average speeds of 100 to 110mb per second from the raid setup and I have another raid setup on the boards promise controller that runs around 80.... so with all the stuff in here can i have found the limit to this thing? Any help would be appreciated....thanks

RAID can put quite a load on the CPU, nothing strange here. Only really expensive RAID chips will take the load of the CPU.
Your freezing problem might very well have something to do with the number of devices attached to the PCI bus (shared bandwith). I believe there are buss manager tools which are supposed to try to limit the freezing. I got one with my TV card. Probably someone else knows more about it.

Anyone know of a way to maybe log bus use to see if thats what is going on?
