For some reason my brand new k95 doesn't seem to work while the system is booting. I have tried plugging it in USB 2.0 ports as well. it doesn't seem to work. I am unable to get to BIOS as a result of this. I plugged in my old keyboard and I was able to get into BIOS(F2). What might be causing this?

Solution
To enter BIOS mode on the K95 Platinum, Press F1 followed by the Windows lock key
seems to be the way to enter bios on corsair keyboards that dont have the switch.

this will remain the active state till you press the same key combo again.
its a common fault mate. basically the bios is finished booting before the keyboard is able to.(mechanical keyboards also have a boot cycle)
there should be a switch on the backside of the keyboard. it should be labled something like 1 2 4 8 bios. switch it to bios and try booting.

1 2 4 8 are the polling rates of
1 1000ms
2 500 ms
4 250ms
8 125 ms
if your a gamer use 1 for the fastest possible response from your keyboard when your using it for anything other than bios.

the rgb platinum edition doesn't seem to have that switch. I do get the option to change the polling rate using corsair utility but there isn't a bios mode available there.

I guess legacy bios don't support these keyboards. For the time being I will use my old kb for bios settings. Do all motherboards have this problem or is it only for those with legacy bios?

That worked! Thanks :wahoo:
