Kaby Lake is indeed good if you upgrading away from AMD FX 6300 or something around there,
That upgrade will allow to explore new new technology being in Kaby Lake lol.
Everytime AMD gets your hopes up - they turn you guys down with the performance once a consumer tries in first hand.

The Intel i7 6950X that i have is not really for game use.....but i going use it for more than 8 virtual machines or doing some rendering projects...

As long as you're aware AMD Ryzen processors release in January 2017, so if you're waiting for Kaby Lake, how is AMD Ryzen not possible to wait for lol?

Kaby Lake IPC isn't much better, you won't miss out on performance much if you buy the i7-6950X now.

Thanks a lot I'm still a newbie to building pc's, but this is my Workstation/Gaming rig. I write my own comics and trying to branch into animation with Maya and Photoshop. Also to start an improvement my production or lack thereof lol. 2-3 Titan XPS and that processor will be more than enough for animation, rendering, streaming and almost everything else under the sun.

This is outright BS. Refrain from posting such nonsense, seriously.

At the same time ''praise'' how awesome Kaby Lake will be, whilst early benchmarks have shown promising figures for Ryzen. Ofcourse though, fanboyism.

I'm a newb so I don't nothing about PC Fan boys, just looked up parts that the Animation and Comic Industry uses, and this CPU was a recommendation. After finding out the new Era just thought I see other options, but I really like the 10core, and I heard about intel and their encriments with every new processor's. Not something I'm a fan of, but AMD hasn't been the powerhouse it once was.

It correct,
Intel is always 1 step ahead of AMD.

At this time Intel clearly stepped back to avoid from going out business.

Yeah, clearly. Let's see what AMD Ryzen does. New team assigned for next-gen processors Q1 2017, their last CPU's were released in 2011. ''Always ahead of AMD'' when AMD hasn't released a new CPU in 5 years.

Let's not judge until AMD Ryzen has released please.
