Hi Guys!
My cousin asked me to build him a gaming pc but he has a low budget so he can't get an i5 cpu.
he just games medium to high settings and does little editing (or maybe he won't edit at all).
so I searched for a system that might fit his likings. then I saw the A10-7850k and told him about it because he wants to game as early as he can. oh and he wants to add a gpu (r9 280x) later (maybe after a year or so I dunno)

He wants new platforms so Fm2+ is a check for him and to be clear "low OC'ing only" hardcore oc is a NO for him that's why I didn't recommend FX's...

He has a 18.5" monitor right now:

Here's what I recommended (Location Philippines) :
Cpu&Mobo package: A10 7850k Gigabyte GA-G1.Sniper A88x (Its a promo it has a discount here so yeah)
Ram: Gskill Sniper 8gb 1600-2133 [2x4gb] (He wants its style and please don't ask why. Because I don't know wtf he likes about it hahaha)
PSU: Antec EA650 Platinum (Why 650? its platinum, low price and for later Gpu upgrade etc... its ok right :??: )
Storage: WDC Blue 1 TB
Chassis: Aerocool Xpredator X1/ Corsair 300R

Future Upgrades:
SSD: Samsung 840 evo 120/250GB
GPU: R9 280x
Additional HDD, Etc...

What do you guys think? please don't argue. I just want to be enlightened. Thanks! :jap:

add 5-10% to the 5800k = 7850k.

so yeah in gaming the 6300 is superior.
I will tell you something. I bought a kaveri 7850k because my original plan was to couple it with linux and play dota 2 at 20000 php. but then linux eats so much system source that it leaves no space for the not optimized dota 2 on linux. so i bought windows 8.1. my pc went straight up to 24k. then again i relized i could not play dota at good frames in max resolution. so i added a r7 250 2gb ddr3 ram which is the only compatible crossfire module for the a10 7850k. my frames went up on 900p om dota 2 so i could play in max settings at 40-60 frames depending on the map location. but this made my pc already 28k php. then my ram blew from switching linux to windows back and forth. dunno how that happened. so i bought another 4 gb ram for 2000 php. so 30k. total pc with mouse 900p monitor and everything even an optical drive. but i did not like the price performance. UNTIL AMD CCC 14.4 RELEASE. Suddenly skyrim runs on ultra at 900p and i get noticable performance boots in quite all games. i do not regret buying that amd pc anymore because of the ccc 14.4. So now i can only recommend this setup. who knows we might be lucky and get huma by the end of the year. then its definately a good choice. any apu that can run shogun 2 cant be that bad. bf 4 is smoothe at standard settings. Tomb raider runs ok. then again sleeping dogs does not. also dont have a clue why. but mind you. you will be outperformed by a 3 year old i5 2500 + hd7850. pretty sad to think 3 years had only so little impact on price performace. maybe you can just buy an octacore android phone in a year that performs better than kaveri for less money with a full hd screen.

Pare, don't go for the kaveri. Even if you can benefit from the built-in gpu, the cpu(or apu) will be the issue in the future...

But don't worry, from intel they released a new cpu better from their current line. The i5 4690k.

It's newer and better, surprisingly same price with the i5 4670k

Here's my recommended build for you:

CPU: Intel i5 4690k 3.5ghz (boost upto 3.9ghz)
Mobo: Asrock Z97 Extreme4 socket 1150
Ram: Kingston Hyper X Fury 4GB 1600mhz (or better with 8GB add 1810)
HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200rpm
PSU: Seasonic S12II 620w BRONZE 80+
Case: Corsair 300R

With the total of 30190 PESOS (prices are from dynaquestpc.com and pcx.com.ph)

Future buys:

SSD: Samsung 840 Evo Series 120GB = add 4250
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212X = add 1699 for OC

With these parts, you may find it a bit expensive for your current budget...

But the best in this build are:

1. Performance for your money
2. faster booting (with SSD)
3. updated BIOS and compatible with next gen CPUs (with Z97 chipset mobo)
4. compatible with powerful GPU cards (ex. GTX 770/780)
5. SLI Ready and OC ready

I hope you find this helpful with these specs ^_^

I hope you did not build your PC yet. haha (August 21, 2014)
I am running a10-7850k with HD 7970 and this build is impressive. I usually overclock my apu to 4.4 ghz (sweet spot) the total money that i spent was around 40k+.
But if my response is not too late, you can get the new Pentium G3258 (which was released this month) for about 2~3k only. You can pair it with 12k GPU and you can run almost all games in high to ultra settings with just around 20k.

I won`t recommend APU, I regret getting my APU and pairing it with discreet GPU. 🙁

Guys do your research! 50-60 frames on high in skyrim. Did I mention this is at 1080p?????
